Advent blessings, December 2009

The past year has passed by very rapidly. The CLCC has been expanding, and growing. We have added new seminars, and presented seminars in more states than ever before. What we do is starting to get out, and we are trying to fill a need. We pray that God will lead us and bless us in this endeavor.

We have had some new members join our leadership recently. Rev. Jonathan Krenz from Dorr, MI has been elected to our BOD and Rev. Timothy Winterstein from Fisher, MN has been elected to the Board of Congregational Services, serving as the chairman. We also have Mr. Matthew Jamison elected as Assistant Director.

We are still looking for two Commissioned Ministers to be on the Board of Congregational Services. If you know any please ask them if they would be so kind as to consider helping us out. Our constitution authorizes two people designated to be commissioned ministers, whom we are considering changing to one more pastor and one more layman in order to fill, but until that happens we are still searching.

We are also looking for more people to teach for us. We need to find people to be located in each region of the country to save on travel expenses. If you might be interested in helping us (need to be a male and it would be nice if you have some experience in making presentations) Please contact us about that, too.

Gene and Deanna will be starting a tour down the West Coast in January in their RV. He has six seminars scheduled for the trip and will return home in early March.

We also have a retreat planned for Feb 25-26 called “Lutheran Difference: Gifts of the Liturgy”, at Lutheran Island Camp in Henning, MN that will be taught by Rev. Dr. Karl Weber and a seminar in FL in Jan that Rev Harris will teach. He’ll also teach one in NE. We have a busy winter planned, with springtime filling up, too.

Please contact us if you would like to book one for your region. We recommend that circuits could have the “Our Reformation Walk” every couple of years, in order to reach all the confirmation age students, as well as adults.

We will soon have a new release of our seminar titled “Organizational Structure of LCMS Churches”, formally LCMS Church Polity. When approved, it will be available in PDF for free download on our website, www.theclcc.org. Churches can download it and use it to teach their own members, or it would be good to use in circuit forums, as many people do not understand church polity, and that can be important for a congregation. Churches who are members of the CLCC can receive the PowerPoint version of the seminar. It currently has three lessons and we expect to add others in the coming years.

Membership fees are due the first of the month, but Gene will be out of town all of Jan. and Feb. so please hold up sending in your fees until the first of March. Thanks.
